when will we see WIMAX.

My Friend once told me that until a standard doesn't as a logo it is not official,
so today i found out that wimax as a logo good news (i guess) Engadget today published that it is now a 3G standard more on that here.
The thing that Sprint or any another buzz freak keep forgetting is that having an IP based phone is great (specially with wimax) but for what?
The problem is still which mobile application will support it?
any idea?....
In the next post i will try to think of a few good ones but feel free to suggest.
